Judge Beverly Cannone said the Read case continues to draw "daily, divisive attention" and jurors could face "a real and present risk" if their names were released.

At least one juror was identified on social media following Read’s first trial, despite Cannone impounding the list, she wrote. The list was impounded last year after a juror filed a motion indicating they were afraid for their and their family’s safety.

Ronald Estanislao was a member of the jury during Read's first trial and says he is watching history repeat itself.
