There are 161 people still missing in Texas in the aftermath of last weekend's deadly flash floods, the state's governor has said.

More than 160 people are believed to still be missing in Texas in the aftermath of the flash floods that killed more than 100 over the July Fourth weekend. Governor Greg Abbott said on Tuesday that many of those still missing had been staying in the state's Hill Country but had not registered at a camp or hotel.

More than 50 people have died, and search and rescue operations are still underway, following the devastating flash flooding that struck central Texas and caused the Guadalupe River to overflow on July 4.
