WASHINGTON − President Donald Trump threatened Iran's supreme leader with assassination as he pushed Tehran to give up its nuclear enrichment program and air strikes continued over Iran and Israel.
Iranian security forces on Tuesday arrested a "terrorist team" linked to Israel with explosives in a town southwest of the capital Tehran, Iranian state media reported.
Mohammad-Reza Zafarghandi said in an update that an Israeli strike on Sunday on Quds Square in northern Tehran injured 59 civilians and killed 12 people, including a pregnant woman. That attack also ruptured a main water pipeline.
Cyprus has acted as a transfer point for third-country evacuees following the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, attack. In April 2023, Cyprus also assisted in the repatriation of U.K. nationals from Sudan.
